Welcome to Garlic Matters!

Hi, my name is Justyna and yes, you guessed, I use a lot of garlic in my kitchen!

However you found your way to Garlic Matters I am glad you’re here with me. I hope you will find what you are looking for, but should you have any questions simply send them to me via e-mail (share at garlicmatters dot com) or the contact form below. I’ll do my best to answer them as soon as possible.

At Garlic Matters I gather and share the experience and research about garlic, growing garlic and cooking with garlic. Sometimes only a touch of it can take a dish to a completely new level. Here you will find recipes containing garlic I developed myself, found online or in cookbooks, and tested. From garlic bread and butter through meat and fish to vegetables, I embrace the unique flavour and goodness of garlic in my kitchen and report back to you, dear reader. I try to publish a new post every Tuesday & Friday – if you would like to receive information about new posts, please join my mailing list through the Sign Up form on the right hand side.

I became fascinated by this wonder food after visiting the Garlic Festival on the Isle of Wight in the UK. This, along with my interest and the joy I find in cooking, led to the birth of Garlic Matters. These days I cook at home for my partner Chris & myself almost every day. Chris is my main critic and (quite happily) a guinea pig.

I was brought up in Poland on a diet full of carbs, meat and vegetables. Maybe that’s why above all culinary trends I like simple, honest flavourful food. I avoid heavily processed ingredients with labels I would have to study with encyclopaedia and a professor of chemistry. At the same time I am not afraid of labels that food groups come with and roasted garlic mashed potatoes is my biggest guilty pleasure. Yeap, I do love carbs and a nice piece of juicy red meat. Eh, dear potatoes, bread, pastas, cabbage… yum, yummy, yum! How could I ever live without you?! 

In my experience common sense and balance is the key to everything in life.
