Surprising and not always trivial information are being brought to my inbox by prof. Google’s “garlic” keyword alert. This sad news from Haiti about the death of a father of 6, who was involved in the local garlic trade, led me to me to these two oldish articles about illegal garlic imports to EU as well as to the USA.
I can’t find any more current information or publications about issues with the garlic import of similar nature, but I this fairly recent article reassures me in my scepticism about the quality of Chinese garlic.
